PILER Quarterly Newsletter JAIZA on Flood Relief work

As you know that the floods 2010 were the heaviest flood in the history of Pakistan, which destroyed the whole livelihood of the people, lived in the affected districts. In response of this worst ever disaster, most of the civil society organizations have taken up providing relief assistance.

Pakistan Institute of Labour Education & Research-(PILER), being a research based civil society organizations, also started relief efforts and policy advocacy calling for the sustainable rehabilitation and structural reforms of the displaced and marginalized flood affected population of Pakistan, right after the floods 2010. This humanitarian initiative by PILER was converted into a long term advocacy initiative that seeks to promote the fundamental citizenship rights of the flood affected population. A series of research and information production along with regular advocacy efforts are being pursued for this purpose.

As a part of this initiative, PILER has started a series of quarterly magazine title “Jaiza”, carrying information and analysis on development and interventions being taken for the resettlement of the flood affectees while also map the response of the affected communities.
