Program Officer – Advocacy (Karachi Based)

The desirable Candidate should be well conversant with the following:

  • To Assist Manager in different Advocacy projects / assignments.
  • Should have Advocacy expertise (Campaign / Lobbying / Social Networking).
  • Network, build and maintain relationships with NGOs, CBOs, government officials, media and other key players to promote advocacy efforts.
  • Should be fully involved in field activities.
  • Organize project meetings and advocacy workshops in collaboration with the Programme Manager and other staff.


Preferred Qualification & Experience

  • Masters Degree in Social Sciences having experience of 4 to 5 years in the field of Advocacy.
  • Should have strong communication and report writing skills in English and Urdu both

National Advocacy Officer – WHRAP Project (Karachi Based)

Roles and Responsibilities of the Position

  1. Identify advocacy opportunities and link with WHRAP National advocacy targets and objectives;
  2. Coordinate and liaise with technical experts in the country that have been identified to provide input and written contributions that convert local level issues to common advocacy messages at national levels;
  3. Political analysis of issue and context in terms of WHRAP National advocacy;
  4. Repackage the advocacy information for distribution;
  5. Facilitating effective communications between local and national level engagements;
  6. Anchoring alliance building and communications;
  7. Represent WHRAP- Pakistan in events organized by different allies
  8. Coordinate Secretariat of Pakistan Reproductive Health Network(PRHN)

Management and Coordination Roles

i               Contribute actively as a member of the WHRAP- South Asia Working Group;

ii              Following up on the WHRAP-South Asia Working Group Committee meeting’s advocacy actions/decisions taken, ensuring prompt and timely response, reporting back, information flow amongst Working Group members and in between  WG meetings;

iii             In coordination with the WHRAP-South Asia Programme and Advocacy Officers.

In addition the Advocacy Officer will:

  • Prepare WHRAP-National advocacy progress and annual reports;
  • Organise project meetings and capacity-building workshops in collaboration with the Programme Manager and other staff.
