RECENTLY, a report titled Pakistan flood emergency: Lessons from a continuing crisis was prepared by a collaborative group of over a dozen leading international and national humanitarian aid agencies.

THE flood inquiry commission formed in the wake of the 2010 floods, under the Supreme Court’s directive, has unveiled that a major cause of the devastating breach of Tori dyke was brazen negligence by the irrigation department.

Subject: Roundtable meeting of prominent women, and a few men (Ministers etc.) who were working or were related to the flood response.
Objective: To discuss and evolve a comprehensive strategy for the rehabilitation of flood affectees in general and women and children in particular.
