Climate Change and Pakistan: Deciphering COP 29
Climate Action Forum (CAF) successfully hosted a Post-COP 29 event titled “Climate Change and Pakistan: Deciphering COP 29” at COMSATS University Islamabad. The event brought together some of the most prominent voices in climate action to discuss COP 29 outcomes and their implications for Pakistan.
Our esteemed panelists included:
Dr. Roomi S. Hayat– Chairperson Climate Action Forum (CAF) and CEO IRM
Dr. Altaf Abro – Head of Mission, Secours Islamique France (SIF)
Mr. Mahmood Akhtar Cheema– Country Representative, IUCN Pakistan

Dr. Anjum Rasheed – Head of Climate Change, Institute of Regional Studies (IRS)
The insightful discussion shed light on how Pakistan can navigate the challenges and opportunities presented at COP 29. Together, we aim to turn global commitments into local action for a sustainable and resilient future.

CAF’s INAUGURAL STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING

Dear All,
It is a great pleasure to announce that the inaugural meeting of the Climate Action Forum (CAF) Steering Committee was successfully held at IRM Head Office on October 23rd. Chaired by Additional Secretary Ministry of Climate Change, Mr. Zulfiqar Younas, the meeting focused on advancing Pakistan’s climate policies and highlighted the crucial role of partnerships in achieving national climate goals.
The gathering brought together climate leaders, key officials, and representatives from 15 organizations, including IRM, working together to foster climate resilience and sustainable development across the country. Discussions centered around strategic planning, resource mobilization, and innovative solutions to tackle climate risks, particularly in vulnerable regions.
