The Federal Secretary, Ministry of Climate Change, Government of Pakistan Syed Abu Ahmad Akif visited IUCN Pakistan Country Office at Karachi on 25th April 2016. In the first leg of his visit he accompanied IUCN experts to the mangroves plantation surrounding the Port Qasim Area, where he also planted a mangrove sapling at the site. Regional Symposium on Vulture Conservation
IUCN Pakistan and BaanhnBeli in collaboration with the Ministry of Climate Change organized a Regional Symposium on conservation of vultures in Asia today. The symposium was organized under the Vultures Conservation Project being implemented jointly byBaanhnBeli and IUCN under a USAID funded Small Grants and Ambassador Fund project. An Exposure Visit was jointly organized by IUCN, International Union for Conservation of Nature and Engro Elengy Terminal Limited under the “Mangroves Ecosystem Restoration Project” funded by Engro Elengy Terminal Limited. Under this project IUCN Pakistan will plant mangroves on 500 hectares of land surrounding Port Qasim Area.
