Declining fresh water flow poses a grave threat to Indus delta and coastal communities

A subcommittee of the Senate has recently raised serious concerns on the ecological disaster that has gripped the Indus delta. This is not the first time that the issue has resonated among the highest legislative forum of the country. In February 2015, experts shared an ominous report before the Senate Standing Committee on Science and Technology: if urgent remedies are not employed, Thatta and Badin will submerge by 2050 and Karachi by 2060. Baanhn Beli and IUCN launch project to prepare Strategy for Protection and Conservation of fast-disappearing Vultures

At the Baanhn Beli office in Nagarparkar, Tharparkar, Sindh, close to the Pakistan-India border, a new project was launched with a simple yet colourful, well-attended event to prepare a comprehensive national strategy to protect and conserve vultures.
