IUCN in Collaboration with P&D Board launches Pakistan’s first Climate Change Gender Action Plan in Punjab

The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), in collaboration with the Planning and Development Board, Government of Punjab launched Pakistan’s first ever Climate Change Gender Action Plan in Punjab. They launched an interactive Framework for Action called the Climate Change Gender Action Plan (ccGAP) that illustrates the opportunity for multi-stakeholders and Climate and Gender champions to regain momentum on climate change and Gender, make the necessary pivot from negotiations to implementation in order to make the massive transformation that must take place throughout all sectors of society to address the climate emergency.

Murree Kahuta Kotli Sattian, National Park Management Plan validated by the stakeholders

A one-day workshop on MKKS National Parks management plan validation was held at the Pearl Continental hotel in Bhurban, Murree, as part of the KAROT, Biodiversity Management Plan Implementation Project.
Mr. Asim Jamal from IUCN Pakistan welcomed the attendees and provided an update on the development of the National Park Management Plan. Dr. Z. B. Mirza presented a critical review of the draught management plan and identified areas for improvement in the management plan. The International Day for Biological Diversity 2022 – Message by Mahmood Akhtar Cheema, Country Representative IUCN Pakistan

The International Day for Biological Diversity is celebrated to mark the importance of biodiversity on earth.

The theme for the year 2022 is “Building a shared future for all life”. The slogan was chosen to continue building momentum and support for the post-2020 global biodiversity framework to be adopted at the upcoming UN Biodiversity Conference (COP15).
